Forth of July

I hope you all enjoyed your day off from classes!

My family and I spent the day relaxing mostly.  This morning we went to the town of Cambridge and watched a parade.
Andrew and Lilianna
Usually I really love this parade, but it was so hot today that all I wanted to do was go swimming.  Overall it was nice and my girls enjoyed it!

After that we spent the rest of the day playing outside in the sprinkler
Gianna and our 2 Chinese exchange students enjoying the sprinkler!
and we had the traditional hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner.  We also made a cake and had ice cream.  Honestly, it was just a relaxing day and we didn't do much.  I guess that is what you are supposed to do on a day off!!

First class

It was so great getting to meet you all today.  I know that class was a little bit confusing today, but thanks for sticking with it!

I forgot to tell you about our first trip.  We will be visiting a homeless shelter run by an organization called the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS).  Please visit their website www.cotsonline.org to learn more about the agency.  Please come prepared on Tuesday with 3-5 questions to ask while at the shelter.  I will collect these questions after the trip.  You will also complete a scavenger hunt on Church Street.

Lastly, our second trip has a $5.00 fee to attend.  Please bring the money to class on Tuesday.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday at 1pm outside Alliot.

Enjoy the July 4th activities!

Welcome!

Welcome to Saint Michael's College!  We are so excited to have you here this summer.

As you already know Discover Vermont is a class where you will visit a few places in the Burlington area to get to know about life here in Vermont.  We will also do some research to supplement our trips.

I have been teaching at Saint Mike's since 2005.  I mostly teach in the summer, but occassionaly I will teach during the spring or fall.  I also teach English as a Second Language in the public schools during our regular school year.

I have been married since 2006 and I have 2 daughters (Gianna is 5 and Lilianna is 2).  You will get to meet them during coffee hours and on one of our trips.

Vermont is very special to me because although I grew up in New Jersey, my family has been vacationing here for years.  I have lived in Vermont since 2003 when I began my Master's Degree here at Saint Mike's.  I have also lived in Arizona, New Hampshire and Ecuador.

I look forward to getting to know you all better!
